Een e-bike die je elke dag naar je werk brengt

Elke ochtend dezelfde rit, en je wil gewoon fris aankomen zonder te zweten of halverwege zonder accu te zitten. Daar draaien deze fietsen om. Het zijn elektrische fietsen die zich prettig laten rijden op de route die je het vaakst maakt: naar kantoor, naar het station, en weer terug. Genoeg ondersteuning om vlot op te trekken bij een stoplicht, en een accu die een paar dagen meegaat voor je weer hoeft te laden. Of je nu vijf kilometer rijdt of een flink stuk forenst, je pakt 's ochtends de fiets en komt zonder gedoe aan.

Genoeg actieradius voor de heen- en terugrit

Het vervelendste op weg naar werk is een accu die leegraakt voordat je thuis bent. De e-bikes hier rijden afhankelijk van het model tussen de 70 en 200 kilometer op een volle lading. Voor de meeste woon-werkritten betekent dat: een paar keer per week opladen en klaar. Let bij je keuze op de accucapaciteit, uitgedrukt in Wh. Hoe hoger dat getal, hoe verder je komt. Rijd je dagelijks een lange afstand, kijk dan naar een accu van 600 Wh of meer. Voor kortere stadsritten is een kleinere accu prima en scheelt het in gewicht.

Comfortabel zitten, ook na een lange dag

Een fiets waar je rechtop op zit en die de weg goed opvangt, maakt een dagelijkse rit een stuk aangenamer. De meeste modellen hebben een middenmotor of een stille naafmotor met koppelsensor, waardoor de ondersteuning natuurlijk meeloopt met hoe hard je trapt. Geen schokkerig wegtrekken, gewoon soepel mee. Er zijn modellen met een hoge instap voor wie sportiever rechtop wil zitten, en modellen met een lage instap voor wie makkelijk op- en afstapt. Welke prettiger rijdt hangt af van je route en je voorkeur, dus kijk per fiets naar de zithouding en het instaptype.

Straatlegaal, dus zo de weg op

Deze e-bikes hebben een motor van 250 watt en trapondersteuning tot 25 kilometer per uur. Geen rijbewijs, geen kenteken, geen verzekeringsplicht. Je stapt op en rijdt weg, ook door de stad en over fietspaden. Handig voor onderweg: kijk of het model dat je op het oog hebt verlichting, spatborden en een bagagedrager heeft, want dat scheelt losse aankopen als je de fiets elke dag gebruikt. Veel werkgevers hebben daarnaast een fietsregeling waarmee je voordeliger een e-bike voor je woon-werkverkeer aanschaft. Vraag daar gerust naar bij je werkgever.
