Can I ride a fatbike on public roads?
In the Netherlands, the following rules apply to fatbikes on public roads: the bike may travel at a maximum speed of 25 km/h, and the motor may have a maximum power output of 250 watts. A fatbike with a throttle is not permitted on public roads.
Which type of fatbike should I choose?
There are several types of fatbikes available. These include electric fatbikes, which are equipped with a motor that provides pedal assistance. There are also standard fatbikes without a motor, which rely entirely on your own muscle power. For more sporty purposes, there are racing fatbikes, specially designed for off-road competitions. How do you maintain a fatbike?
