Is the Robin ST legal?
Yes. The Robin ST only assists you if you pedal yourself and stops at 25 km/h, with a 250W motor and no throttle. This makes it just an electric bike, not a moped. So you are allowed to ride it anywhere you can ride a regular bike.
How fast does the Robin ST go, and am I allowed to increase its speed?
The Robin ST supports speeds up to 25 km/h. Faster is not allowed: as soon as you tune a fatbike, it legally counts as a moped. You are then required to have insurance, a license plate, and a helmet, and your warranty becomes void. With our bikes, you ride safely within the rules.
Do I need a driver's license, insurance, or registration for the Robin ST?
No. Because the Robin ST supports speeds up to 25 km/h, it counts as a regular bike. No driver's license, no license plate, no mandatory insurance. A bike insurance against theft or damage is smart, but that is up to you.
From what age are you allowed to ride the Robin ST?
There is no legal minimum age for an electric bike like the Robin ST in the Netherlands. Anyone can ride it, and a helmet is not mandatory.
How far can you go with the Robin ST on a single battery charge?
With the Robin ST, you can ride about 120 km on a full battery. The exact distance depends on your speed, your weight, how much assistance you use, and the wind.
What warranty do I get on the Robin ST?
You get a 3-year warranty on the frame and 1 year on the moving parts. If something breaks during that period due to a manufacturing defect, we will take care of it for you.

JOBOBIKE Robin ST at GOfatbike

The JOBOBIKE Robin ST is an electric fatbike with a low step-through frame, designed for those who like to ride firmly and comfortably without having to step high over the frame. The wide tires provide grip, the front fork absorbs shocks, and you sit upright. It’s a bike for daily rides and occasional longer trips, not a sports machine for breaking records. In this explanation, we’ll go through the step-through frame, battery, motor, and brakes so you know if the Robin ST suits your riding style.

Low step-through and riding position

The handy feature of the Robin ST is its low step-through. You don’t have to lift your leg high; you simply step through and sit down comfortably right away. This makes mounting and dismounting easy, even at traffic lights or with a bag on the handlebars. You sit upright, with your hands relaxed on the handlebars, which is comfortable for your back and neck on longer rides. The aluminum frame feels stable. If you’re looking for a sporty, forward-leaning position, this isn’t your bike; the Robin ST deliberately prioritizes comfort and ease over speed.

Range and battery

The battery is a 48V 13Ah lithium pack, good for 624Wh, with a BMS that monitors charging. How far you can go isn’t a fixed number. Your weight, the wind, the level of assistance chosen, and the number of stops along the way all determine how much range you get from a charge. If you ride calmly and pedal along yourself, you can extend the range. If you often choose the highest of the five assistance levels, the battery will drain faster. Think in terms of a margin rather than a hard number, and keep an eye on the display so you know when it’s time to recharge.

Motor, speed, and regulations

The Robin ST runs on a 250W Bafang hub motor with up to 80 Nm of torque, which you especially feel when starting off. The assistance runs up to 25 km/h, after which you pedal on your own; there is no throttle. This keeps the bike within the rules of a regular electric bike, requiring no license, registration, or helmet. Leave the motor alone when it comes to increasing speed. Doing so takes the bike out of its legal category, the mechanical disc brakes and frame are not designed for consistently higher speeds, and you will lose your warranty.

Tires, brakes, and riding feel

The 26-inch fat tires are wide enough to provide grip on the street, a forest path, or loose sand, and they immediately absorb some of the vibrations. Additionally, a hydraulic RST front fork with 80 mm of travel provides damping. You brake with mechanical disc brakes from Tektro: they require occasional adjustment but deliver predictable stopping power in both dry and wet conditions. The riding feel is calm and straightforward. Keep in mind that the bike weighs around 35 kg, so lifting it up stairs or loading it into a car takes some effort. A luggage rack, fenders, and lights come standard.

Who is this fatbike for

The Robin ST suits someone who wants to get on and off comfortably and effortlessly, and who mainly makes daily trips: to work, to the store, or a weekend ride. The low step-through is nice if your knees or back aren’t always cooperating, and with a load capacity up to 120 kg and a size starting from about 155 cm, it fits many people. If you want a light bike to carry around or a fast, sporty e-bike, you should look elsewhere. But if you’re looking for stable, comfortable, and easy mounting, this is a logical choice.

Ordering at GOfatbike

Not sure if the Robin ST is right for you? Think about how you’ll use it: how often you get on and off, how far you ride, and on what kind of surface. The low step-through and calm riding feel make it especially suitable for comfort-focused cycling. The Robin ST comes in more than one color, so choose the version you like best. Feel free to read some customer reviews to see what others think. The JOBOBIKE Robin ST is available at GOfatbike.
