With 16-inch wheels and a short frame, the GT16 is small and agile. Convenient in the city and easy to store. The 48V 20Ah battery is removable, so you can charge it separately, for example indoors while the bike is stored in the shed. How far you can go depends on weight, wind, assistance level, and terrain, so expect some variation. For daily trips to work or the store, you’ll recharge every few days and lower the assistance on longer rides. Your range mainly depends on your route and weight, so expect some variation rather than a fixed number.

Motor, speed, and regulations

The 250W motor supports speeds up to 25 km per hour. You pedal yourself, no throttle, so the orange GT16 counts as a regular electric bike. No license, registration, or helmet required. There is a walk assist up to 6 km per hour. We advise against tuning: you fall outside the legal category, the bike is not designed for it, and your warranty will be voided. This way, the orange GT16 remains a bike you can simply ride without a license or registration.

Tires, brakes, and riding feel

The 16-inch wheels with 3.0 tires are narrower than the 4.0 of a large fatbike, making the bike agile. Yet you maintain grip and stability thanks to the dual suspension system front and rear. Hydraulic disc brakes on both wheels grip well, even when wet. Shifting is done with seven Shimano gears, and the color LCD display shows speed and battery. Smaller wheels respond more directly, so some getting used to is normal. After a few rides, you’ll smoothly steer it through narrow spots and corners.

Who is this skinnybike for

The orange GT16 suits those who want to ride compact, agile, and eye-catching, especially on shorter to medium rides. Less suitable for tall riders needing lots of legroom, or for those who mainly cover long distances and prefer larger wheels. To be honest: the compact size is both the strength and the limitation.
