The Royal Cargo Bike 3W Eco is a three-wheeled electric cargo bike designed to safely transport children and groceries from A to B. This is the entry-level model in the tricycle range: simple in design, with a spacious box at the front and a low step-through frame. You sit upright, the motor assists as soon as you start pedaling, and with two wheels in front, the bike stands on its own. The cargo box and space for children

The box is located at the front, between the two front wheels, and can hold up to four children. Motor, gears, and regulations

The drive comes from a Bafang rear hub motor with 45Nm torque. A rotation sensor detects when you pedal and gradually engages the assistance, and with eight Shimano gears, you can find the right gear for every hill or load. The motor assists up to 25 kilometers per hour, after which you pedal on your own power. There is no throttle, so this counts as a regular electric bike. You don’t need a driver’s license, registration, or helmet for it. We advise against tuning the motor: the bike then falls outside that category, the brakes are not designed for it, and your warranty will be voided.

Brakes, safety, and equipment

All three wheels have hydraulic Tektro disc brakes. This is no luxury on a loaded cargo bike, as a full box wants to roll on with speed. The brakes grip neatly and evenly, even when it has rained. Automatic LED lights front and rear ensure visibility, with reflective stripes on the tires and anti-slip pedals. The aluminum frame with double-walled rims is solidly built. On the LCD color display, you can read speed, battery level, and assistance, and the walk-assist pushes the bike along when you walk beside it.
