The Royal Cargo Bike 3W Premium is a three-wheeled electric cargo bike with more battery capacity and torque than the entry-level model. In the middle of the frame is a Bafang mid-drive motor with 80Nm torque, controlled by a torque sensor that adjusts the assistance based on how hard you pedal. This makes riding feel natural, even when loaded or on a hill. Shifting is done with a Shimano Nexus hub with seven gears. The motor assists up to 25 kilometers per hour and there is no throttle, so this counts as a regular electric bike: no license, registration, or helmet required. We advise against tuning it up, as the bike would then fall outside that category.

Brakes, safety, and equipment

Hydraulic Tektro disc brakes on all three wheels provide controlled braking power even when the cargo box is loaded, including in wet conditions. Automatic LED lights front and rear, reflective stripes on the tires, and anti-slip pedals contribute to safety. The aluminum frame with double-walled rims is sturdy. On the LCD color display, you can read speed, battery level, and assistance. The battery is secured with a lock and a BMS system against deep discharge, so you can ride with peace of mind.
