Compact frame and agility

Motor, speed, and regulations

The Mini has a 250W motor with pedal assistance up to 25 km/h. Above that, the assistance cuts out and you pedal on your own. There is no throttle, so you always have to pedal along. This means the bike is considered a regular electric bike, for which you don’t need a license, registration, or helmet. Do not modify the bike to go faster. Once it exceeds the allowed speed, it falls into a heavier category with its own rules and your warranty becomes void.

Brakes and riding feel

The Mini has hydraulic disc brakes instead of the simpler mechanical cable brakes. That’s not a given on every fatbike. Hydraulic brakes respond more directly and require less hand force. In the rain, on a descent, or at a busy intersection, that’s a pleasant difference. Many simpler fatbikes have cable brakes, which in practice work less smoothly and require more maintenance. Together with the wide tires, this gives a stable feeling on the road.

Battery and range

The battery is good for rides of up to about 60 kilometers. The exact range depends on your weight, the support level, and how flat the route is, so consider it a guideline rather than a fixed promise. For commuting or the daily ride to school, that is more than enough, even if you don’t charge every evening. You can monitor the battery level on the display so you know when it’s time to charge.

Who is the Mini for

The Mini is well suited for smaller riders and young people. In practice, it is usually ridden from about 1.40 meters tall, which corresponds to children from around eight to ten years old. The maximum rider weight is around 100 kilos, and with a passenger seat, you can take someone along. If you ride 70 or 80 kilometers every day, or mostly through loose sand and forest paths, you’re better off with a larger V20 with more battery and bigger wheels. For city rides and commuting on normal roads, the Mini is just right.
