The Mini has hydraulic disc brakes instead of simpler mechanical cable brakes, which isn’t a given on every fatbike. Hydraulic brakes respond more directly and require less hand strength. You’ll notice the difference in the rain, on a descent, or at a busy intersection. In practice, cable brakes work less smoothly and need more frequent maintenance. Combined with the wide tires, they provide a stable, predictable ride.

Battery and range

The battery is good for rides of up to about 60 kilometers. The exact range depends on your weight, the assistance level, and how flat the route is, so use this as a guide. That’s more than enough for commuting or the daily school run, even if you don’t charge it every day. The display shows the battery level, so you know in good time when it needs charging.

Who is the Mini for?

The Mini is a good fit for shorter riders and young people. In practice, it’s usually ridden by people from about 1.40 meters tall, which means children aged around eight to ten and up. The rider’s maximum weight is about 100 kilos, and you can take someone along with a passenger seat. If you need to ride 70 or 80 kilometers every day, or mainly ride on loose sand and forest trails, you’re better off with a larger V20 with a bigger battery and larger wheels. The Mini is right at home on city rides and commutes on regular roads.
